The Year in Review

We will not meet again until after the New Year. We’re going to pick up the pace in 2006 and push to have the temporary park ready to open by the time school is out in May with more ramps, a new fence and insurance. Stay tuned.

What have we done in 2006? We’ll here’s the recap:

+ Collected over 1600 signed petitions
+ Skated in the annual Christmas parade
+ Obtained our non-profit status
+ Built a temporary skatepark
+ Talked to the Crossville exchange club
+ Held a successful Slate and Skate fundraiser with Martin
+ Participated in a demo and talk for the library summer reading program
+ Joined the Crossville Chamber of Commerce
+ Co-sponsored a demo day with Crossville unicycle club for the Young Marines
+ Made a lot of new friends

I’d say we've done well! See you in 2006.

What a Parade!

Thanks to everyone who came out for the parade despite the freezing cold weather. We had a blast! There were between 50-60 skaters/BMXers/bladers who joined us to pass out candy and skate down main street. I think a lot of folks were surprised to see how large a community of skaters there are in Crossville. We even shot some video which we hope to be able to post soon. We're looking forward to reopening the temporary park in the Spring of 2006. Stay tuned.

Parade Date Has Been Moved and Demo Postponed

Just wanted to let everyone know that they announced that the Crossville Christmas Parade has been moved to Tues, December 6th due to horrible, wet and cold weather predicted for this Saturday, December 3rd. So, we’ll now meet for the parade at 6:30pm on Tues, December 6th at the high school (or possibly Martin Elementary...look for us in line). Dress warm and bring a bag of candy.

Due to the bad weather, we’ve also had to cancel the demo for Saturday, December 3rd. Please pass the word. We will not have a skatepark meeting this Saturday either.
