Rear View Mirror

When I was a "smack" (a.k.a. freshman) at the Air Force Academy, one of my reoccurring dreams (besides being yelled at by an upperclassman) was to one day graduate and see the Academy fading away in my rear view mirror. Some 13 years later, I still enjoy looking in the rear view mirror to see what it might say. So, here's to the highlights of 2006, your comments, and B-L-A-N-K's search for the heart and soul of design:

• We questioned Intelligent Design.
• We pondered why youth is so idealized in design.
• We realized that design doesn't always work.
• We miss Hope.
• We tried to find some altruistic students.
• We altered egos.
• We made sausage.
• We gave gifts.
• We found four things.
• We discovered design can be a democracy.
• We cringed.
• We considered the shallowness of design.
• We cleaned up aisle 5, 6 and 7.
• We remembered our creative childhood.
• We discovered the power of a _______.
• We got religious.
• We became unknown.
• We looked at blood and ink.
• We searched for leaders.
• We sought the Spirit of design.
• We tried once again to define design.
• We showed a lot of heart.
• We designed with a handicap.
• We found ourselves in the middle of a Second Renaissance.
• We'd rather be______.
• We're defined.
  
• We're obsessed.
• We're limited.
• We're confessing and professing.
• We're changing.
